Paper Plate Cars – Kid Craft Idea
Calling ALL my crafty mommy friends for this Paper Plate Cars art project idea! Today’s post is for those rough and tumble boys that absolutely LOVE cars. My son has hit the Matchbox car phase and he is growing quite a collection. I admit – I’ve been waiting quite some time for him to “finally” pick a favorite thing and I’m all for this one!
Without ado – today I’m sharing how YOU can make some simple Paper Plate Cars on the fly and have some big smiles afterwards!
This kid friendly craft is completely customizable when it comes to the colors and of course – it’s super easy, inexpensive and fun for all ages! These cars don’t require fancy tools OR a big wallet either. It’s just plain ole’ simple craft fun!
So what are you waiting for? Rev up those engines, grab some supplies and “vroom” on by to crafting these up!
Happy crafting, my friends! Don’t forget to share pictures of your child’s custom paper plate cars with us, on our Facebook community wall. It makes my day to see the inspiration come to life! #gluedtomycrafts

Paper Plate Cars Craft Supplies:
* Large Paper Plate – one plate makes TWO cars at once
* Favorite Colored Tissue Paper
* White/Black Cardstock
* School Glue
* Craft Scissors
* Hand-Held Office Stapler
Directions:
* First cut your paper plate in half. This will give you TWO cars.
* Now take your tissue paper and cut it into small squares {let the kids practice their cutting skills}
* Take your paper plate halves and put a good amount of glue all over them. Have children place the tissue paper on top of the glue, until they are completely covered.
* When they are done with that, set aside to let them dry completely while you trim out the other car features from your cardstock {think tires, windows, lights etc}
* To finish off the Paper Plate Car kid craft – simply staple the finished cardstock pieces in their designated spots. Have children add other embellishments to really make it their own! Then display proudly!
Here is an example to take this crafty idea and make police cars!
And of course with cars you need a stoplight! To make this Paper Plate Stoplight – simply paint a paper plate completely black, cut in half, staple onto a piece of black cardstock and add the “red, yellow and green” circles to the center.
