Popsicle Stick Bookworm Bookmark Craft

Do you want to spark your kid’s creativity and get them excited about reading? Look no further than this simple popsicle stick bookworm bookmark craft!

Bookworm Craft Idea For Kids

If you’re looking for a fun and creative craft project to do with a large group during story time, look no further than the Bookworm Popsicle Stick Bookmark tutorial!

This easy-to-make craft activity is sure to provide a few minutes of entertainment and encourages playfulness, creativity, and imagination.

It’s perfect for kids of all ages; from preschoolers to elementary school aged children, this bookworm bookmark activity is super fun and easy. Plus, it’s an excellent way to promote reading – especially during Reading Across America Week – plus it makes a great gift too!

Popsicle Stick Bookworm Bookmark Craft Popsicle Stick Bookworm Bookmark Craft

With just a few simple supplies, you can create bookmarks out of popsicle sticks.

Craft Supplies:

  • Jumbo Popsicle Sticks
  • Paint Pens, Sharpie Markers or Craft Paint
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Printer
  • Bookworm Head Printable – on box.com
  • Medium Sized Googly Eyes
  • School Glue
  • Basic Craft Scissors

Directions:

  • First have children paint and/or color their jumbo popsicle sticks however they like {one per bookworm}
  • Once done, set aside to let it dry completely.
  • Grab your printed printable and pull out the coloring materials.
  • Have decorate ONE of the head designs from the white paper.
  • When they are done, help them trim it out with the scissors.
  • To finish off the Popsicle Stick Worm Bookmark – simply glue the cardstock piece in place on one end of the popsicle stick and add the wiggle eyes so they can see.
  • Follow that up by adding other embellishments you see fit before you use it as a bookmark in your favorite book.
  • If you would like to display this craft instead, you can add magnets to the back or hot glue some string for easy hanging!
