Craft Foam Handprint Flower Bookmarks - Kid Craft

Whether you’re child is making them for themselves, their friends, or loved ones, these delightful mementos not only keep a place in the pages of a book but also capture a unique moment in time through their handprints!

Craft Supplies:

  • Sticky Sticks Fan Handles
  • Green Craft Paint
  • Paint Brush
  • Small Paper Plate
  • Scissors
  • Green Craft Foam Sheet
  • Choice of Color Craft Foam Sheet
  • School Glue
  • Marker

Directions:

  • First things first – grab one sticky stick, the craft paint, small paper plate and paint brush.
  • Squirt some green craft paint on the paper plate.
  • Go ahead paint the sticky stick completely green to make the stem of the flower {except the area where the sticky adhesive tip is.}
  • Repeat these steps for each flower bookmark you want to make.
  • When done painting, set them aside to let them dry completely.
  • While the paint is drying, go ahead and trace your child’s hands on the desired color of craft foam and trim those out.
  • At this point in time you should also cut out some leaves from the green craft foam.
  • Now you are ready to assemble your bookmarks. Simply peel off the plastic tab on the adhesive tip and place your handprint cutout on top.
  • Now grab your glue and glue your leaves onto the sticky stick stem.
  • At this point in time you can also add other embellishments you see fit.
  • Then set it all aside to let it dry completely before using as a bookmark!
  • Remember – you can also use these as spring decorations or gift them away as a nice gesture!

Craft Activity Safety Guidelines:

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use. Following these guidelines will ensure that crafts remain fun, creative, and, most importantly, safe for everyone involved!
