Paper & Watercolor Flower Art Project For Kids To Make

Flower Art Project For Kids To Make Today!

If you or your child LOVE coloring and/or working with a paint brush, our latest flower themed craft idea is just for YOU! It’s got a little sparkle from the black glue we used and a beautiful watercolor color scheme to really round it off.

With the THREE different flower outline templates you will find listed below, you are going to LOVE how easy it is to pull this paper craft idea together within minutes. Plus it will only cost a few cents to recreate!

All you need to do is download our FREE flower files, print them on white cardstock paper and give it life with a few crafty steps. And although the watercolors are what makes each flower beautiful and unique, the black glitter glue outline we added towards the end {and encourage} is what really makes it pop from the paper!

And I have ONE last PUSH to encourage you to recreate this art project today. Not only will you and your child want to make several to display on your fridge, you are also going to want to make a few for the special people in your life. This black glue and watercolor craft is great to make in multiples, all at once and turn them into simple cards by adding letter stickers that spell out “a flower for you” to make it easy to gift!

So what are you waiting for?! I’ve laid out the hard work for you. It’s time for YOU to get to printing and “blossoming” that creative spirit today! Remember – this idea is great for ALL year long, so be sure to bookmark our page in your browser {especially when Valentine’s day and Mother’s Day comes around!}

Art Supplies:

  • Free Printable Templates {flower 1 file, flower 2 file, flower 3 file}
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Color Printer
  • Watercolors {any type will do, even this inexpensive Crayola brand!}
  • Small Paint Brush
  • Small Dish w/plain tap water

  • optional materials – construction paper and glue stick

You can find ALL our favorite craft supplies via our AMAZON SHOP link!

Directions:

  • First things first – download and print any {or all} of the flower files listed above, on a single sheet of simple white cardstock. Print each flower design as much and many times as you like! You can also print these files on light colored cardstock paper as well.
  • Now it’s time to paint the flower! Let the kids go wide and paint their little hearts out! Remember – you can make this a teachable moment on how to make different shades of red and orange, with the colors they have in front of them {or let them go wild and paint their flower however they like!}
  • For added flair {and more crafty fun} have children outline their painted flower with a thin line of black glitter glue.
  • Set aside to let it dry when done.
  • If desired, add scrapbook stickers that spell out “a flower for you” in the corner of the print.
  • You can also glue your finished {and completely dry} piece to another larger piece of paper to frame the design. I have found that construction paper {which is bigger than computer paper} and a basic glue stick will do the trick on this step.
  • Finally – display and/or gift away your watercolor flower art proudly!
  • Don’t forget to also snap a few pictures with share with us on your social media sites! #gluedtomycrafts
