Watercolor Flower Art Supplies:
- Free Flower Outline Templates {download flower 1, flower 2, flower 3}
- White Cardstock
- Color Printer
- Watercolors {any type will do, even this inexpensive Crayola brand!}
- Paint Brush
- Small Dish w/plain tap water
- Black Glitter Glue
- Small Scrapbook Letter Stickers
- Flat/Wipeable Surface To Work On
- optional – construction paper and glue stick
Directions:
- First things first – download and print any {or all} of the flower files listed above, on a single sheet of simple white cardstock. Print each flower design as much and many times as you like! You can also print these files on light colored cardstock paper as well.
- Now it’s time to paint the flower! Let the kids go wide and paint their little hearts out! Remember – you can make this a teachable moment on how to make different shades of red and orange, with the colors they have in front of them {or let them go wild and paint their flower however they like!}
- For added flair {and more crafty fun} have children outline their painted flower with a thin line of black glitter glue.
- Set aside to let it dry when done.
- If desired, add scrapbook stickers that spell out “a flower for you” in the corner of the print.
- You can also glue your finished {and completely dry} piece to another larger piece of paper to frame the design. I have found that construction paper {which is bigger than computer paper} and a basic glue stick will do the trick on this step.
- Finally – display and/or gift away your watercolor flower art proudly!
- Don’t forget to also snap a few pictures with share with us on your social media sites! #gluedtomycrafts
