Watercolor Donut Friends - Kid Craft Idea

Have fun with your little ones and a simple craft project – make these adorable black glue & watercolor donuts! Encourage their creativity and have a blast right along side with them!

Craft Supplies:

You don’t need to run out and buy fancy art supplies for this project. Most of these items are commonly found in homes, classrooms, or craft stores. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • DONUT Printable {FIND IT ON BOX.COM}
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Watercolors
  • Paint Brush
  • Small Dish w/tap water
  • Black Glitter Glue
  • Wiggle Eyes
  • Markers

Directions:

Follow these simple steps to create your black glue and watercolor donuts:

  • First things first on your radar – print out the DONUT FRIEND TEMPLATE above, on simple white cardstock paper {or any color you like!}
  • Next, if desired, you can cut the donut body template out with scissors before or after you paint them. I opted for not cutting mine out but it’s just another angle you can take this craft, if it interests you! 🙂
  • Now it’s time to paint! Use your watercolors to decorate the donut design however you like.
  • For added flair {and more crafty fun} add black glitter glue around the edges and inside the painted donut design.
  • Now for bringing them to life! Glue on the wiggle eyes at this point in time and draw on a smiley face with the markers, as well.
  • When done with all the crafting fun, set aside your pieces to let them dry completely.
  • Finally – display your hard work proudly!

Craft Activity Safety Guidelines:

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use. Following these guidelines will ensure that crafts remain fun, creative, and, most importantly, safe for everyone involved!
