DIY Flower Card Craft Supplies:
- Colored Cardstock {most importantly GREEN}
- Pre-folded Cardstock Cards
- Ad Tech Permanent Crafter’s Tape Adhesive
- Basic Craft Scissors
- Pen or Pencil
- optional embellishments such as stickers, glitter glue, rhinestones etc.
Directions:
- First things first – pick a hand!
- Instruct your child to lay THAT hand, flatly on some colored cardstock.
- Take the pencil {or pen} and trace around your child’s hand to make the flower.
- When done, lift up their hand and trim out the traced handprint design from the paper.
- Repeat the above steps for each flower card you want to make today.
- Next up – grab some green cardstock and cut out a simple stem & leaf shape for your flower design.
- Repeat for each card you are making.
- Next grab your remaining cardstock and trim out a rectangular piece that is slightly smaller and will fit on the front of your pre-made cardstock card.
- Go ahead and use your adhesive tape to secure that piece to the front of your card.
- To finish your Handprint Flower Cards, secure your handprint cutout {the flower bud} and stem cutout to the front of your card to give the look of a flower.
- At this point in time you can also add other embellishments like glitter and rhinestones, before gifting away!!!

Peggy, Here’s a thought- just scroll on past any handprint art projects! There might be some other people in this world who do like handprint projects, and that is perfectly ok.

I was looking for an inexpensive way to give about 200 people in a nursing home something for in their rooms for Easter from the children. I love this idea and I think the residents will too. Thank you

I actually love this! Kids can still be as creative as they want in decorating the hand flower, and having to trace and cut the handprint helps with their fine motor skills. My first graders and I go to a nursing home once a month to create a craft for some of the residents. We only have a half an hour (including walking time to and from). For me, I was looking for a spring craft that wasn’t going to take an inordinate amount of time.. and this is perfect! I’m sorry some people are so grumpy!

I absolutely hate , hate, hand print art projects that are anything other than a real hand print. It doesn’t teach children to observe the beauty of what they are looking at but instead gives them a short cut! Stop it! no more hand print turkeys, flowers boats whatever….make a hand print a hand print , a flower ….liet them draw in their own quirky beautiful kid way.!!
