Directions:
- First things first – print the FREE printable listed above, on one sheet of white cardstock paper. You only need one heart shaped face printable per craft.
- Have children decorate the inside of their craft paper however they like with crayons and/or markers.
- Once done, use scissors to trim out the head.
- Discard the excess paper. Set aside your piece.
- Grab your colored cardstock, pencil and scissors.
- Trace your child’s hand several times on the paper with the pencil.
- Trim out each handprint for the craft. Depending on the size of your child’s hand, you may need 6-10 handprint cutouts.
- Now grab the stapler and all your paper pieces, along with the decorated heart piece.
- Staple the handprints to the back of the hedgehog shape, making the fingers peek out from behind.
- If need be – trace/cut out more handprints to really make his spikes “full.”
- Then if desired – glue a large pom pom in place on his nose {but you can totally skip that step if you like!} At this point in time you can also add large wiggle eyes as well!
- And that’s it! Add other embellishments you see fit to your cute hedgehog before displaying it proudly for all to see!
