You're A Star Paper Badge

This craft idea is so simple, but the results are stunning. Your friends and family will be amazed at what your little ones have created!

You're A Star Paper Badge - Kid Craft Idea To Spread Kindness

Craft Idea To Spread Kindness – You’re A Star Paper Badge

Did you know that today {January 24th} is National Compliment Day?

Although we should compliment people EVERY day of the year, I think this is a fun holiday to honor someone special in your life. All it takes is a few good words of positivity!

So keep scrolling to see my quick “You’re A Star Paper Badge” craft idea come to life. You could even make your own star piece, right along side your child today {or any day of year really!} and give it some people who truly are a ROCKSTAR in your life! There’s even a FREE star shape printable in this very post, to get you started on this GRAND GESTURE!

On a side note – I was really inspired to create this craft because of my son {of course!} He said something nice to me the other day {I believe, your hair is pretty} so I responded “Thank you. That makes me feel really good.” He responded “You’re welcome. I’m filling up your bucket.” This stopped me in my tracks and melted my heart.

Are you filling up someone’s bucket today? Better yet – are you encouraging your child to fill someone else’s bucket today?

Maybe our craft can help spark the act or even a conversation with your child. Remember – when we do nice things and say nice things we fill someone’s bucket. When we make someone feel bad or bully someone, we are emptying their bucket. With all the things going on in the world right now, being nice is a good thing. Encourage it 🙂

Anyways – back to the star craft! Find all the details below! Happy crafting, my friends!!! #gluedtomycrafts

You're A Star Paper Badge - Kid Craft

Shine bright like a star! Showcase your creative side and make the perfect badge for yourself or a special someone with this easy paper star badge tutorial!

Craft Supplies:

  • Star Printable – on our landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Scissors
  • Crayons and/or Markers
  • Loose Craft Glitter
  • Adhesive
  • Colored Cardstock Paper
  • Stapler

Directions:

  • First things first – print out the FREE printable listed above, on one sheet of white cardstock paper. You only need one star badge printable per craft.
  • Have children decorate the inside of their star printable however they like.
  • Once done, use scissors to trim out the star, as well as the heart that says “You’re a star.”
  • Discard the excess paper.
  • Adhere the heart shape to the center of the decorated star.
  • Add glitter to the star if desired. My favorite quick tip is to use a tape runner and sprinkle glitter on top that way. This is NO DRY TECHNIQUE and the glitter stays in place nicely.
  • Set aside your star piece.
  • Grab your colored cardstock paper. Cut off several long strips of paper for the “rainbow” aspect of the craft.
  • Now grab the stapler and all your paper pieces, along with the decorated star.
  • Staple the rainbow “beams” to the back of the star shape.
  • And that’s it! Add other embellishments you see fit to your Paper Star Badge before gifting to someone special or displaying it proudly for all to see!

Customize It:

  • Remember – our tutorial is just a starting point! Instead of cardstock rainbow beams, substitute scrap ribbon pieces or crepe paper stripes in place, instead.
  • And like I mentioned – this is a BADGE OF HONOR! If your child wants to wear it, simply poke a safety pin towards the top of the star {with adult supervision of course!} and have them wear it on their clothes 🙂

Craft Activity Safety Guidelines:

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use.
