Styrofoam Cup Bucket Of Luck Craft

Magical Styrofoam Cup Bucket Of Luck - Kid Craft

Bucket Of Luck Craft Idea For St. Patrick’s Day

Continuing on with the St Patty’s Day themed crafts I shared yesterday on Glued To My Crafts, today I’m sharing this Styrofoam Cup “Bucket Of Luck” kid craft with you all today! It’s basically a leprechaun cauldron with a rainbow coming out of it!

With a few simple supplies {and I mean REALLY simple} you too can pull this together with your child in one afternoon. All you need is a plain styrofoam cup {or paper} pipe cleaners and black paint.

No fancy tools or special luck required! Afterwards you might even have a smiling kid like I did, who was glowing when we finished it.

So what are we waiting for? Let’s grab our supplies and get to work! You can find ALL the details you need to know for this bucket of luck craft tutorial below!

Happy crafting, my friends! Please don’t forget to share pictures of your rainbow cauldron cup on our Facebook page when you are done! #gluedtomycrafts

Craft Supplies:

  • Styrofoam Cup – one per craft
  • Black Craft Paint
  • Foam Paint Brush
  • Small Paper Plate
  • Five Different Colors of Pipe Cleaners
  • Clear Tape or Hand-Held Office Stapler
  • Yellow Tissue Paper

Directions:

  • First things first – squirt some black craft paint on the paper plate. Have your child paint their cup completely black. When they are done painting, set it aside to allow it to dry completely.
  • Once dry – arrange your FIVE pipe cleaners in a rainbow shape/design and tape them to the inside of the painted Styrofoam cup. If tape doesn’t work – try stapling them instead.
  • To finish, fill your Leprechaun cauldron with sweet treats or yellow tissue paper to give the effect of a black kettle filled with gold and a rainbow coming out of it.

Doesn’t this craft look fun and easy? If you are having a St Patty’s Day party this year – these would make great “lucky” party favors or decorations for the table. You can fill them up with gold chocolate coins or even yellow jelly beans. The possibilities are endless.

I hope this craft inspired you! If you need more inspiration for the holiday, check out our Paper Plate Leprechaun post! #gluedtomycrafts
