Craft Supplies:

Before we begin, gather the following supplies to make your Handprint Monkey Keepsake craft a seamless experience:

  • Hanging With You Printable – on our landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Brown Craft Paint
  • Paint Brush
  • Paper Plate
  • Baby Wipes
  • Crayons, Markers, Coloring Pencils
  • Embellishments

Directions:

  • First access the “I like hanging with you” printable, listed above in the supply list.
  • Print it in color on a single sheet of white cardstock. You only need one print per monkey keepsake craft.
  • Next up grab your brown craft paint, paint brush and paper plate.
  • Squirt some paint on the paper plate.
  • Pick a hand and tell your child to keep their fingers together but leave the thumb out {for the monkey tail.}
  • Paint your child’s hand completely brown and press it under the monkey’s head in the printable. You will want the fingertips to go outward from the head, to create the body and tail.
  • Use the baby wipes to remove excess paint from their hand and send them to the sink for a quick wash.
  • Set aside the printable to let the paint dry completely.
  • Now the fun part! Grab crayons and/or markers & have your child color in the face of the monkey. Just like a coloring page – go to town!
  • Finally, add other embellishments you see fit {like some small heart stickers} as well as having children sign their name in the blank spot, towards the top of the handprint monkey print.
  • Then display/gift away your child’s “I like hanging with you” print proudly!
