Handprint Bald Eagle Keepsake

This simple craft requires just a few easily found materials and supplies which makes it perfect both at home or even in the classroom, suitable for kids of all ages!

Plus, this project is great if you’re wanting to inspire creativity while teaching younger generations about our nation’s beloved symbol: the bald eagle.

Craft Supplies:

  • Eagle Printable – on our landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Washable Brown Craft Paint
  • Small Paper Plate
  • Paint Brush
  • Baby Wipes
  • Embellishments

Directions:

  • First print out the EAGLE template printable on white cardstock paper. You only need ONE print per keepsake.
  • At least point in time, if you choose to, go ahead and color in the beak of the printable.
  • Next up – squirt some craft paint on a paper plate.
  • Pick a hand – any hand!
  • Paint the palm and fingertips of your child’s hand completely and press it on the printable, right under the eagle’s head. This is now the feathers/wings of the craft.
  • Be sure to really wiggle those fingers so the paint transfers to the paper.
  • Now lift up their hand and remove excess paint with a few baby wipes & a quick trip to the sink.
  • Set aside the paper piece to allow it to dry completely.
  • When ready, add other embellishments you see fit like patriotic stickers, glitter etc. around the eagle design, to give it that Independence Day look.
  • Then display/gift away your child’s bald eagle handprint art piece proudly!
