Craft Supplies:
- School Glue
- 9 Jumbo Popsicle Sticks
- 6 Regular Popsicle Sticks
- White/Orange Colored Cardstock Paper
- Basic Craft Scissors
- Marker or Pencil
- Craft Paint – in shades of brown or red/white
Directions:
- First you will want to build a basic frame for your bald eagle. This is done by laying SEVEN jumbo popsicle sticks next to each and securing them with two jumbo popsicle sticks {like a fence}
- Once that is done, glue the remaining four popsicle sticks, onto the frame to look like feathers {see above photo for an example.}
- Set finished pieces aside in an undisturbed area to allow it to dry completely.
- Now you will want to paint your popsicle stick frame. We used brown paint for a more traditional look of a bald eagle and blue/red for a patriotic one.
- When done painting, set aside to let it dry completely.
- To finish off your Popsicle Stick Bald Eagles, simply trace your child’s hands {the wings} on the white cardstock paper.
- Trim out the traced designs for the feathers.
- With the leftover cardstock, trim out a head and beak for the bald eagle.
- Now glue all your cardstock pieces in their designated spots and display your finished pieces proudly!
