Keep your kids entertained and educated with this easy, fun craft idea! With a few supplies from home, you can make a patriotic paper plate flag project in no time.
Craft Supplies:
- Large Paper Plate
- Red Craft Paint
- White Craft Paint
- Washi Tape or Painter’s Tape
- Dark Blue Cardstock Paper
- Foam Paint Brush
- Hand Held Stapler
- Craft Scissors
- OPTIONAL – white star stickers
Directions:
- First tape off your paper plate with the washi tape. Your lines don’t have to be perfect but you will want each section to be about the same thickness.
- Now squirt some RED paint in the center of the paper plate.
- Have children move the paint around and completely cover the plate.
- Once done, quickly remove the washi tape pieces to reveal the red stripes underneath {some paper plate might come up with it but that’s alright!}
- To finish off the Paper Plate Flag, cut out a small rectangle from the blue cardstock, add some “bright stars” with the white paint and then staple it onto the paper plate to complete the flag design.
- Then display proudly! Don’t forget to share pictures with us when you are done! #gluedtomycrafts
