Wine Cork Painted Flag Craft for 4th of July

When engaging in craft activities, it is important for young children to have adult supervision at ALL times. It is also recommended to use supplies that are suitable for your child's age. Feel free to modify materials or steps to meet your specific requirements. Please refer to our safety guidelines for more information.

Whether you’re working with preschoolers or elementary-aged kids, the steps can be simplified or made more advanced to suit their abilities. Older kids can focus on perfect spacing and symmetry, while toddlers can enjoy the simple joy of stamping.

Wine Cork Painted Flag On Paper - Kid Craft

Are you looking for a simple and fun activity to keep the kids entertained this Fourth of July? Say hello to the wine cork painted flag craft! With just a few everyday materials, your little ones can create their very own patriotic masterpiece. Not only is this craft a fantastic way to celebrate Independence Day, but it also inspires creativity and helps develop fine motor skills.

CRAFT SUPPLIES:

Before starting, round up the following materials:

  • Wine Cork
  • White  Acrylic Paint
  • Red & Blue Cardstock or Heavy Construction Paper
  • School Glue
  • Paint Tray or Disposable Plate
  • Paper Towels For Cleanup
  • Optional: masking tape, star stickers, or stencils for added details

All of these supplies are easy to find at home or your nearest craft store. You can also substitute certain items, such as using paper plates as makeshift paint trays.

DIRECTIONS:

Make sure you’re all set up for a mess-friendly crafting session:

  • First things first – simply cut a small BLUE rectangle to be placed in the corner of your red cardstock. Glue that in place.
  • Now squirt some white paint on a paper plate.
  • Have children “stamp” white stripes on the red part to create the flag! You can also add glitter, rhinestones, buttons etc. to give it that personal touch!
  • Super simple, right? So there’s no excuse NOT to get crafty this weekend and celebrate the patriotic holiday in style!

Craft Activity Safety Guidelines:

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use. Following these guidelines will ensure that crafts remain fun, creative, and, most importantly, safe for everyone involved!
