Popsicle Stick Firework Stand Craft

Get your kids in on the fun of the Fourth of July with this easy and creative craft idea! Just a few supplies and your kids will be have a piece to show off all season long!

Craft Supplies:

One of the best things about this craft is how flexible it is. You can mix and match materials based on what you already have at home. Here’s the base list of supplies:

  • Jumbo Popsicle Sticks – 6 per craft
  • School Glue or Hot Glue Gun
  • Craft Scissors
  • Cardstock Paper
  • Craft Markers
  • optional – printed 4×6″ picture; small flag and patriotic star stickers

Directions:

Once you’ve gathered all your supplies, it’s time to get crafting!

  • Begin by assembling the base of your firework stand using six jumbo popsicle sticks for each craft. Think of this step as creating a fence, leaving large gaps between the sticks for spacing. Refer to the example in the provided picture for guidance.
  • Once the base is assembled, set it aside to dry completely.
  • While it dries, start preparing the paper embellishments. Cut out small firework shapes, flames, and the firework stand sign from cardstock to give your craft a unique, festive touch.
  • To complete the Craft Stick Firework Stand, have children attach the cardstock decorations and, if desired, add stickers or other embellishments to the front for extra flair.
  • For a personal touch, you can add your child’s photo to the back, turning it into a charming picture frame.
  • Once everything is finished, allow the craft to dry fully before proudly displaying it as part of your Independence Day celebrations!

Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use.
