Get the family crafting this weekend! It’s an easy and fun way to show our country pride with this Popsicle Stick Button Flag craft idea. It’s sure to bring a smile to everyone’s faces!
Craft Supplies:
- Jumbo Popsicle Sticks
- Small Red Buttons
- Small White Buttons
- Blue Buttons
- Thick Tacky Glue or a Hot Glue Gun
Directions:
- First assemble the base of your flag by gluing your popsicle sticks together to look like a fence {7 next to each and two across to create a square shape.}
- Set aside to let it dry completely.
- Now grab your blue buttons and start gluing them down, in the top left corner of the popsicle stick shape.
- Once done, it’s time for the button stripes! One by one – have children glue their buttons on to the popsicle stick piece in rows of red and white.
- Repeat for each stripe.
- Set aside to let it all dry completely.
- To finish off the Button Flag craft, have children add other embellishments they see fit and display proudly!!
