Cute As A Button Tree Ornament Craft For Kids

This festive DIY ornament is perfect for adorning your tree and creating lasting memories.

Not only will it look beautiful, but the act of crafting on its own can help create a special bonding moment between parents, teachers or educators and their children.

Craft Supplies:

  • Jumbo Popsicle Sticks
  • School Glue or Hot Glue Gun
  • Green Craft Paint
  • Brown Craft Paint
  • Foam Paint Brush
  • Small Paper Plate
  • Small Craft Buttons
  • Scissors
  • 4×6 Printed Picture
  • Paint Markers or Sharpie Markers
  • Twine or Ribbon

Directions:

  • First things first – paint three of your four jumbo popsicle sticks completely green, while painting the remaining one, brown.
  • Set aside to let them dry completely.
  • Next up – get the glue gun hot and ready!
  • Start off by gluing the THREE green painted popsicle sticks together to look like a triangle.
  • Now grab your printed picture and the scissors.
  • Trim down the printed picture so it fits inside the triangle popsicle stick piece.
  • Glue it to the back of your assembled triangle piece.
  • Next glue the BROWN painted popsicle stick in place, on the back, to look like the Christmas tree stump.
  • We are heading towards the final steps now! To finish off the Craft Stick Cute As A Button Ornament – glue on the various craft buttons {for the ornaments} all around the tree design, as well as using paint markers to write “cute as a button” on the finished shape as well.
  • For easy displaying – glue some string to the back for easy hanging on the tree or for adding to gift packages under the tree!
  • Once done, set it all aside to let it dry completely before you display them proudly.
