Let your child’s creativity shine this upcoming 4th of July holiday with this simple and very affordable patriotic kid craft idea.

Then use your decorative craft stick fireworks as fun party decor, pretend play pieces or even turn them into patriotic party “invites” by adding some cardstock paper cutouts {with address, date etc. written out} to the back of each finished firework piece.

Blast off with our craft stick firework art project idea! Let your child’s creativity shine this 4th of July holiday with this simple DIY!

Craft Supplies:

  • Jumbo Popsicle Sticks
  • Mini Popsicle Sticks
  • School Glue
  • Craft Paint
  • Foam Paint Brush
  • Small Paper Plate
  • Paper Craft Scissors
  • Cardstock Paper
  • Curling Ribbon

Directions:

  • First glue your popsicle sticks together to look like a fence {3 jumbo next to each other with two mini across}
  • Set aside to let it dry completely. Repeat.
  • Now you are ready for paint. Squirt your colors on the paper plate.
  • Go ahead and paint your popsicle stick shape however you like.
  • Set it aside to allow it to dry a bit.
  • Next grab your choice of color in cardstock and the paper craft scissors.
  • Cut out a triangular top for the top of the firework, as well as any other embellishments.
  • To finish off your Popsicle Stick Fireworks – have children glue on their cardstock pieces, as well as some curling ribbon “flames” and other fun embellishments.
  • Then let it all sit aside to let it dry completely before displaying proudly!!!
