 If you’re looking for a delightful DIY project to jazz up your Thanksgiving celebration, I’ve got just the thing! This year, why not usher in the holiday with the colorful charm of curling-ribbon feathered turkey puppets crafted by your little ones?

Curling Ribbon Turkey Puppets - Kid Craft

Thanksgiving is a time for feasting, family, and fun crafts! While the adults are busy in the kitchen, there’s no better way to keep the young turkeys in your life entertained than with a Thanksgiving-themed craft that they get to make and play with.

Enter our curling ribbon feathered turkey puppets — a delightful and easy craft for kids that brings the magic of Thanksgiving to life!

In this post, we’ll walk you through every step of creating these charming little puppets, while discussing how this activity not only sparks creativity and teaches simple crafting skills but also serves as a wonderful bonding experience between parents and children.

Curling Ribbon Turkey Puppets - Kid Craft Curling Ribbon Turkey Puppets - Kid Craft

Get creative with your kids this Thanksgiving and make these adorable turkeys out of curling ribbon!

Craft Supplies:

  • Curling Ribbon
  • Large Popsicle Sticks
  • Cardstock Paper {brown, red, orange}
  • Scissors
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Glue Sticks
  • Small Wiggle Eyes
  • Orange Sharpie Marker

Directions:

  • First things first – get the glue gun hot and ready. Set it aside. If working with younger children, adult supervision is REQUIRED for this step!
  • Now grab your sheets of brown, red and orange cardstock paper.
  • Cut out a medium sized circle for the turkey’s body out of the brown, while his face out of the red & orange cardstock.
  • Go ahead and glue your newly made cardstock pieces to one end of your popsicle stick. Add his eyes so he can see.
  • Now take the curling ribbon and hot glue it to the OTHER SIDE of the popsicle stick. You want it to look like feathers.
  • Finally – take your orange Sharpie marker and draw “stick legs” on the front of the turkey puppet.
  • When done, let it dry a bit before playing with it.
  • Then, when ready, go ahead and SHAKE your finished curling ribbon turkey puppet piece & enjoy the crunchy noise the curling ribbon makes!

  • Cardstock Paper

Prepare your creative haven by laying down a protective cover before the crafting magic begins!

Directions:
