Paper Cup Ice Cream Cone Craft

Keep the kids cool in the summer heat with this fun and easy craft idea! Let their imaginations run wild as they create paper cup ice cream cones—the perfect way to pass the time on a hot day.

Craft Supplies:

  • 4 inch Styrofoam Balls
  • Large, White Party Cups
  • Tan Craft Paint
  • Foam Paint Brush
  • Small Paper Plate
  • Craft Yarn
  • Basic Craft Scissors
  • Large Marbles/Glass Stones
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Glue Gun Sticks
  • Small Colored Buttons
  • Large Red Pom Poms

Directions:

  • First take your foam balls and wrap yarn around them multiple times, until they are completely covered.
  • Set aside till later.
  • Next grab your paint, paint brush and party cups.
  • Squirt some craft paint on your paper plate.
  • Have children paint the outside of the cups completely tan.
  • When done set aside to let them dry completely.
  • Now you are ready to assemble your ice cream cones. Simple place some glass beads in the bottom of the cups {this way they won’t tip over}
  • Place some hot glue around the rim of the cups and place the yarn covered foam ball on top.
  • To finish off your Foam Ball & Paper Cup Ice Cream Cones, glue on some buttons {sprinkles} and a red pom pom {cherry} on top.
  • Then display proudly!!!
