Valentine’s Day Ice Cream Cone Craft

There is nothing is sweeter than ice cream for Valentine’s Day – am I right?! So that’s exactly what inspired this Craft Foam and Paper Valentine Ice Cream kid craft idea!

It’s amazing what you can make out of a simple craft foam heart! {Have you seen all my awesome blog posts lately?} And this melt-free ice cream kids craft idea is just as unique and extra creative for those who want to get crafty with the kids this upcoming Valentine’s Day holiday!

The basic steps are that we are turning the basic craft foam heart shape and turning it into an ice cream cone with just a few paper elements {one of which is our FREE printable!} How? I’ll show you below!

Heart Shaped Valentine Ice Cream Cone - Kid Craft

These easy and adorable heart shaped ice cream cones are perfect for your Valentine this year! Kids will love making them, and adults will love displaying them in their home!

Craft Supplies:

  • Large Craft Foam Hearts
  • Ice Cream Cone Printable – on our landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Crayons, Markers, Coloring Pencils etc.
  • Scissors
  • Red Cardstock Paper
  • Wiggle Eyes
  • Black Sharpie Marker
  • Glitter Embellishments
  • Green Pipe Cleaner
  • Stapler

Directions:

  • First print out our blank ice cream cone printable. You only need ONE print per heart ice cream cone craft.
  • Once you have it printed out, grab your choice of coloring material and color in the ice cream cone design however you like.
  • When done coloring, go ahead and trim out the ice cream cone shape with your scissors.
  • Discard excess paper and set aside your decorated paper cone till later.
  • Now grab your heart shape, green pipe cleaner, red cardstock paper and any other embellishments you like.
  • You are going to decorate the heart shape to give it some personality. Start off by drawing on a smile and adding on some wiggle eyes.
  • When done decorating the heart, set it aside till the last step.
  • Next up – cut out a circle from the red glitter paper for the cherry and trim down the pipe cleaner for the stem.
  • Now the LAST STEP! To finish off the Valentine’s Day ice cream cone craft, grab all your cone piece, heart shape and the stapler.
  • Staple the decorated heart to the ice cream cone cutout.
  • Follow that up by stapling on the cherry on top and adding some glitter for the sprinkles.
  • Add even more embellishments you see fit and display proudly for ALL to see!!
