Popsicle Stick Ice Cream Gnome

Popsicle Stick Ice Cream Gnome - Kid Craft Idea

Ice Cream Gnome Made From Popsicle Sticks

My obsession with gnomes continues on Glued To My Crafts! They are super cute, eye-catching and apparently can be made to fit ANY of the major holidays & seasons.

It’s seems to be my new motto in my craft life and I can’t stop coming up with new ways to incorporate the gnome theme into my tutorials that I share with you all!

I mean – hello?! I’ve done a Christmas, reindeer, love bug, snowman, leprechaun and now I’m adding an ICE CREAM CONE GNOME to the blog archives. Say what?!

Out of ALL of the popsicle stick gnome craft ideas I’ve shared so far on our website, I think I’m the most excited for this little sweetie, since it’s something I came up with on my own. You will NOT find anything on the internet like this. This is truly, a FIRST SEEN HERE idea today and I sure hope you see my vision too!

So without further ado, before this idea melts away, I present to you how can make your own popsicle stick ice cream sundae gnome with your child today. All you need is a few wood craft sticks, paper and glue {and tons of rhinestone “sprinkle” embellishments to really make it stand out from the crowd!}

On that note, I bet you are going to have a blast building this one and falling in love with your unique ice cream gnome creation. Then make it stand out even more, by snapping a few pictures to share on our Facebook page or tag us on Instagram to see! I can’t wait to see what how you give your gnome ice cream cone craft it’s own personality! Most importantly – what flavor will you be making him into?!

Well – enough chit chat from me! Find all the details you need to know, in the full tutorial below! Happy crafting, my dear friends! #gluedtomycrafts

Ice Cream Gnome - UNIQUE Popsicle Stick Craft Idea For Kids! Ice Cream Gnome - UNIQUE Popsicle Stick Craft Idea For Kids!

Craft Supplies:

  • Jumbo Wood Sticks {three per gnome cone craft}
  • School Glue
  • Craft Paint {think pastel colors!}
  • Small Paper Plate
  • Foam Paint Brush
  • Kid Friendly Paper Craft Scissors
  • Scrapbook Paper {that matches you craft paint}
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Tan Cardstock Paper
  • Red Cardstock Paper {for the cherry nose of course!}
  • Black Sharpie Marker
  • Small Rhinestone Stickers, Pom Poms or Glitter Glue

Directions:

  • The fun starts here! First things first – grab three popsicle sticks {three per ice cream gnome} as well as your choice in color of craft paint supplies.
  • Squirt your colored craft paint on the paper plate.
  • Grab your paint brush and go ahead & paint the THREE popsicle sticks completely.
  • Next up – glue the three painted sticks together to look like a triangle with the school glue.
  • Set aside the triangle piece to let it dry completely.
  • Repeat for each summer inspired gnome you want to make today.
  • While that is drying, grab all your paper sheets and scissors.
  • Cut a triangular shape, from the patterned scrapbook paper paper, that will be placed within the popsicle stick design and be the body of the gnome.
  • Out of the remaining cardstock, you want to cut out a long white WHIPPED CREAM beard, a triangle WAFFLE CONE hat, oval shaped CHERRY nose and anything else you can think of!
  • Be sure to draw several lines on the hat cutout, to give it that waffle cone dimension.
  • To finish off the Popsicle Stick Ice Cream Cone Gnome – go ahead and glue all your paper pieces in place, with some school glue on the painted popsicle stick shape. The large triangle will go on the back of the popsicle stick shape, while the other pieces go on the front.
  • Then add other embellishments they see fit to complete the look {like tons of RAINBOW SPRINKLES on the whipped cream beard!}
  • Once done, set aside to let it dry completely before displaying proudly!
  • Don’t forget to share pictures with us of your ice cream cone craft creations with us, on your social media sites! #gluedtomycrafts
