Looking for a fun and easy craft project for the kids? This handprint gnome craft is perfect for kids of all ages!

Craft Supplies:

  • “No Place Like Gnome” Printable – on our landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Crayons, Coloring Pencils, Markers etc.
  • Scissors
  • Brown Cardstock Paper
  • Pencil or Pen
  • Adhesive
  • Flower Stickers

Directions:

  • First things first – if you haven’t already, go ahead and print out our free printable. Print it out on a single sheet of white cardstock You only need ONE print per gnome home craft.
  • Now grab your choice of coloring medium and decorate the “roof” design in the printable however you like. Be sure to draw on bricks and window pane lines on the small window!
  • When ready – go ahead and cut out the design.
  • You can discard the excess white paper or save it to decorate your house later on.
  • Next up – grab another sheet of white cardstock and your pencil.
  • Pick a hand – any hand!
  • Trace around your child’s hand onto the single sheet of white cardstock.
  • When done tracing, trim out the lined design with your paper scissors. This will be a beard for your gnome.
  • Now grab your piece of paper that will be the bottom “house” portion of the craft.
  • Fold it in half and cut it so you have TWO pieces. Save one for today’s craft and save the other half for another day {maybe our chalk art hair troll craft!}
  • Now grab your remaining pieces of cardstock paper.
  • Cut out a small oval nose shape, as well as a door piece.
  • At this point in time, go ahead and also cut out anything else you might want for your house.
  • When you have ALL your paper pieces done, you are ready to assemble it all together.
  • Start off my gluing down the white handprint cutout to the top of the rectangle paper piece you made earlier. You want the fingertips facing downward, going towards the door.
  • Follow up that step by gluing down the hat roof on top {the portion that you cut out from our printable} as well as the nose and the door under that.
  • To finish off your Paper Gnome House Keepsake, add some flower stickers along the bottom to really tie the theme together.
  • Add any other embellishments you see fit.
  • Then display your new gnome paper piece proudly for ALL to see!!
  • Don’t forget to snap a few pictures on your phone of your “there’s no place like gnome” piece and tag us on your social media sites! #gluedtomycrafts
