Handprint Tissue Paper Carrot {Kid Craft}

Tissue Paper & Handprint Carrot

Hi friends! I’m so glad you landed on today’s tutorial! I’m going to show you how EASY it is to take basic materials and make a quick carrot craft that is perfect for spring and/or Easter!

Then you can easily turn your finished paper carrots into holiday decorations by stringing a whole bunch on a banner or even turn them into puppets by hot gluing them onto jumbo popsicle sticks. The possibilities are pretty endless! I just set up the basic framework for you today and I hope you run with it!

So what are you waiting for? Grab those craft supplies, find all the details below and grab the freebie file as well. Then get to work on making some of your own “paper smiling carrots” with your child right now! It’s the perfect excuse to get to “hopping” and join them in the fun!

BTW – don’t forget to save the finished paper carrot creations as a keepsake to place in your scrapbook, since the handprint as the greenery is too adorable to just throw away!!!

Handprint Tissue Paper Carrot {Kid Craft}

This fun and easy craft is perfect for kids of all ages! All you need is some tissue paper, our provided carrot template, and some school glue.

Craft Supplies:

  • Orange Tissue Paper
  • Green Cardstock Paper
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Blank Carrot Shape Printable
  • Kid Friendly Scissors
  • Pen or Pencil
  • School Glue or Glue Stick
  • Hand-Held Office Stapler
  • optional materials – wiggle eyes, black marker

Directions:

  • First you will want to print out the free provided printable listed in the supply list above. You only need ONE PRINT per carrot craft.
  • Once you have it printed out, go ahead and trim out the heart shape in the printable.
  • Discard excess paper.
  • Next cut your orange tissue paper into small squares.
  • Put a few squiggles of glue all over your cardstock piece and have children place the tissue paper on top, until it’s completely covered.
  • Set aside to let it dry completely.
  • Next trace and trim out your child’s handprints from the green cardstock. I did one handprint cutout but you can do more/less.
  • To finish off the Handprint Tissue Paper Carrot craft – simply staple on the handprint pieces to your carrot piece.
  • Then display proudly!
  • BTW – I added wiggle eyes and a black Sharpie marker smiling face to mine but you can skip that if you like!
