Directions:
- First things first – you are going to grab all your colors of tissue paper and scissors. Go ahead and cut a handful of tissue paper squares from EACH color. You want the squares to be around 1″ inch by 1″ inch but they don’t need to be perfect or all exact in size.
- When you have a good amount of tissue paper squares, you are going to grab a single sheet of white cardstock and your glue stick.
- Working in rows, make lines of glue on the paper and place your tissue paper squares on top, until your entire paper is covered and you have a beautiful mosaic design on it. I went with a sporadic design for mine but you can do a more ombre look if desired. If need be, layer more tissue paper squares on top of the others, until you have the look you like.
- Once done, you are going to set it aside for a bit. Discard extra tissue paper squares.
- Now turn on your Cricut Maker Machine and whatever device you are using the design space app on. I use an iPad when working with mine.
- In your app, you are going to go to the mat feature, hit add image and type in “cross” in the search bar. There are several different options to choose from in the app but I went with the Cross Tombstone #M8615BDD.
- Go ahead and hit insert to add it to the mat.
- Once the digital cross is in place, you are going to want to resize it a bit so it can be the star of the show in your craft. Since my white cardstock measured 8.5″ x 11″ inches, I went ahead and sized my cross to around 7.53″ x 8.99″ inches. You can of course go a little larger or smaller if you like.
- Now take a single sheet of black glitter cardstock and place it on your Cricut mat {the black facing you} and use your hand to make sure it’s nice and flat, as well as secure on there.
- Go ahead and load the mat into your machine.
- From there, you are going to hit cut, let the machine do it’s job and remove the mat & eventually your cross cutout from it.
- Finally – the last step for this sunrise and cross craft. Go ahead and use your glue stick to secure the newly made paper cross cutout {glitter side up} to the decorated tissue paper piece. I secured mine towards the bottom of the paper but feel free to glue it wherever you want!
- And that’s it! Let it all dry completely before your display it proudly for all to see.
