Paper Plate Black Bat Craft

Today I’m going to share a Paper Plate Handprint Bat kid craft idea that is super simple to pull together in honor of the upcoming “spook-tacular” holiday.

This DIY craft is perfect for little ones that want to get in on the fun but it’s not so scary that you will be dealing with nightmares afterwards.

It also includes all my favorite kid craft supplies {tissue paper, a simple paper plate and even those precious little handprints} so the budget is relatively low too.

Paper Plate Handprint Bat - Craft Idea For Halloween

Get crafty with the kiddos this weekend and make some bats out of paper plates and handprints!

Craft Supplies:

  • Small Paper Plate
  • Black Tissue Paper
  • School Glue
  • Scissors
  • Black Cardstock Paper
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Stapler
  • Fun Halloween Eyes
  • Pencil or Pen

Directions:

  • First cut your black tissue paper into small squares.
  • Set those aside.
  • Next, put a good layer of school glue all over the small paper plate.
  • Have your child place the black tissue paper on top of the glue, until the paper plate is completely covered.
  • Set aside to let it dry.
  • Now grab your pencil and black cardstock.
  • Trace/trim out two handprints for the bat. Set aside.
  • With the left over cardstock, cut out two triangle ears and fangs for the bat.
  • Staple the ears and handprints to the paper plate.
  • To finish off the Paper Plate Handprint Bat and give it life, glue on the eyes and fangs in the center of the bat’s body.
  • Then display proudly for all to see!!

Paper Plate & Handprint Bat Craft

This easy paper plate craft is perfect for Halloween! Kids will love making these handprint bats.

Here’s your checklist of supplies to bring this craft to life:

  • 1 Small Paper Plate
  • Tissue Paper
  • Cardstock Paper
  • Wiggle Eyes
  • School Glue
  • Scissors
  • Stapler
  • Pencil or Pen

Prepare your creative haven by laying down a protective cover before the crafting magic begins!

Directions:

  • First cut your black tissue paper into small squares.
    Tissue Paper
  • Set those aside.
  • Next, put a good layer of school glue all over the small paper plate.
    1 Small Paper Plate
  • Have your child place the black tissue paper on top of the glue, until the paper plate is completely covered.
  • Set aside to let it dry.
  • Now grab your pencil and your sheets of cardstock paper.
    Cardstock Paper
  • Trace/trim out two handprints for the bat from the black. Set aside.
  • With the left over black cardstock, cut out two triangle ears.
  • Out of the white cardstock paper, cut out two fangs.
  • Staple the ears and handprints to the paper plate.
  • To finish off the Paper Plate Handprint Bat and give it life, glue on the eyes and fangs in the center of the bat’s body.
    Wiggle Eyes
  • Then display proudly for all to see!!
