Craft Stick Halloween Friends Art Project For Kids
If you have been a LONG time reader of mine, you probably have noticed that I’ve transitioned from paper plate crafts to popsicle stick activities. Although I “still” love a good paper plate craft activity, I’m absolutely in LOVE with how versatile popsicle sticks can be!
With that being said – today’s Popsicle Stick Halloween Friends post hits that idea right on the nail!
With just a simple triangular popsicle stick base, you pretty much open a pandora box FULL of “spook-tacular” pieces to show off ALL season long. Perfect to display as is or string along in a banner for easy Halloween party decorations.
Simple and completely customizable – just how we like it around here! So follow my steps below and get ready to make your own custom pieces with your child today! Change it up to fit your needs and really let that creativity shine!!!
Happy crafting my friends!! Don’t forget to share pictures of your Halloween friends made from wood craft sticks with us on our Facebook page! I seriously can’t wait to see how you give them your own creative “creepy” spin! #gluedtomycrafts
PAIR YOUR CRAFT STICK HALLOWEEN FRIENDS WITH —> Thumbprint Halloween Cards
Craft Supplies:
- Jumbo Popsicle Sticks {3 per Halloween craft}
- School Glue
- Craft Paint {any color you like!}
- Paint Brushes
- Colored Cardstock
- Kid Friendly Scissors
- optional materials – ribbon, glitter, rhinestones
Directions:
- First grab three popsicle sticks {three per craft} and glue them together to look like a triangle. Set aside to let it dry completely. Repeat for each piece you want to make.
- Now grab your craft paint that goes along with your craft. Black for cats, bats, spiders etc, orange for pumpkins and green for frankenstein. Go ahead and paint the popsicle stick design. Set aside again, to let it dry completely.
- While that is drying, grab your respective colored cardstock and cut a triangular shape that will be placed within the popsicle stick design. At this time, you should also cut out other features from your cardstock to give your pieces life.
- To finish off the Popsicle Stick Halloween Friends – have children glue on their cardstock pieces to the popsicle stick shape. Finish off with any other embellishments they see fit & set aside to let it dry completely before displaying proudly!
