Witch Moon Craft Idea For Kids

Get your little witches ready to create some magic! This fun Witch Moon craft is perfect for getting creative with the kids.

Craft Supplies:

  • Large Paper Plate
  • Basic Craft Scissors
  • Lime Green Craft Paint
  • Foam Paint Brush
  • Witch Hat Printable – on our landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Crayons, Coloring Pencils or Markers
  • Stapler
  • Green Cardstock Paper
  • Large Wiggle Eyes
  • School Glue
  • Black Sharpie Marker
  • Halloween Stickers

Directions:

  • First things first – print off the FREE witch hat printable listed above in the supply list.
  • Next – color in the hat design however you like and trim it out, with your scissors, when you are done.
  • Up next – the paper plate moon. Grab the plate, along with your scissors.
  • Cut the paper plate to look like a half moon {use our image as an example.} The best way I can describe it is to cut out a half circle from one side from the paper plate.
  • Discard the excess piece from the paper plate.
  • Now you are going to paint your paper plate shape. I went with a lime green color but you can of course change that up!
  • To finish off the paper plate witch moon craft, simply staple the hat shape from earlier, to the painted paper plate.
  • Follow that up by adding on the facial features – like the wiggle eyes, a triangle nose from the green cardstock paper and using the marker to draw on her smile.
  • And that’s it! You can either add some more elements {like spider stickers} or go straight to displaying it proudly for ALL to see!

Craft Activity Safety Guidelines:

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use. Following these guidelines will ensure that crafts remain fun, creative, and, most importantly, safe for everyone involved!
