With Father’s Day less than a few weeks away, I figured I would share another SIMPLE kids craft idea that can be easily framed and turned into a gift on the fly!

This Handprint Sailboat Keepsake tutorial is super easy to make within minutes and it’s relatively inexpensive too. If you have a printer in your home – you are well on your way to pulling this together and creating a great keepsake to treasure for years to come {plus the finished handprint piece fits nicely in a scrapbook too!}

In this post, I’ve included a FREE gender-neutral printable template, so all you need to do is print the file, grab some paint and have your children add their handprint to complete the craft. It’s so simple, you have NO excuse NOT to do it!

Craft Supplies:

  • Sailboat Printable – On Our Landing Page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Washable Craft Paint
  • Small Paper Plate
  • Foam Paint Brush
  • Baby Wipes

Directions:

  • First download and print the free sailboat template printable {listed above in the supply list} on white cardstock paper.
  • Squirt some paint on a paper plate.
  • Paint one of your child’s hands and press it on the printable to create a flag for the sailboat.
  • Repeat if desired.
