This guide will walk you through everything needed to create a button-covered pineapple frame with your kids, offering step-by-step instructions and tips for making crafting even more enjoyable.

Craft Supplies:

Before getting started, make sure you have all the required materials on hand. Here’s what you’ll need to craft your button-covered pineapple frame:

  • Large, Rectangular Wood Frame
  • Yellow Craft Buttons {any size, shape etc.}
  • Glue Gun or Thick Tacky Glue
  • Green Cardstock Paper
  • Pen or Marker
  • Paper Craft Scissors

Directions:

  • First glue yellow buttons ALL over your wood frame. Pile them high or let kids do their own thing!
  • When done covering it with buttons, set it aside to let it dry completely when.
  • Now grab your green cardstock, pencil and scissors.
  • Trace/trim out your child’s handprint for the pineapple stem.
  • To finish off the Button Pineapple Frame – glue your handprint pineapple stem to the back of the frame.
  • Then add your picture and display proudly!!!

Craft Tips:

  • Play Summer Tunes: Set the tropical mood by playing fun beach playlists or summer-themed music while crafting.
  • Use Recycled Buttons: Raid your sewing or craft supply drawer instead of buying new buttons. This is a great way to teach kids about upcycling!
  • Host a Craft Party: Invite a few friends over for a crafting session. Each child can create their own pineapple frame to take home.
  • Personalize the Frame: Add the child’s name or year with permanent markers or stickers to make it a keepsake.

Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible.
