Craft Stick Pineapple Friends - Kid Craft Idea For Summer

Your little ones will love making these adorable friends, and you’ll love how quick and easy they are to put together!

Craft Supplies:

  • Jumbo Popsicle Sticks – 9 per craft
  • School Glue
  • Yellow Craft Paint
  • Paint Brush
  • Paper Plate
  • Scissors
  • Green Cardstock Paper
  • Black Marker
  • Wiggle Eye Stickers

Directions:

  • Start by gluing your popsicle sticks together to create a fence-like shape. Lay seven sticks side by side, then glue two more across them horizontally to form a pineapple shape.
  • Set your newly crafted shape aside and allow it to dry completely.
  • Once dry, it’s time to paint! Squeeze some yellow craft paint onto a paper plate.
  • Using a paintbrush, coat the entire popsicle stick pineapple in yellow. Set it aside again to dry fully.
  • Next, grab your green cardstock, marker, and scissors. Trace your hand onto the cardstock and cut out the shape—this will be the leafy top of your pineapple.
  • To assemble your Popsicle Stick Pineapple, glue the green handprint cutout to the back of the painted popsicle stick shape. Attach wiggle eyes to the front.
  • Finish the look by drawing a cheerful smile and several “X” marks across the pineapple using a black Sharpie marker.
  • Once completed, proudly display your creative pineapple masterpiece for everyone to admire!

Craft Activity Safety Guidelines:

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use. Following these guidelines will ensure that crafts remain fun, creative, and, most importantly, safe for everyone involved!
