There is no need to pull out your hair! I’m sharing an adorable Handprint Plate Keepsake idea that is sure to bring a smile to the receiver!
Craft Supplies:
- Terra Cotta Planter Plate
- Various Craft Paints
- Mod Podge
- Paint Brushes
- Baby Wipes
Directions:
- First figure out where you want your handprint on the plate. A good tip is to buy a big enough planter plate so your child’s hand fits perfectly in the center {probably bring them along with you on your shopping trip, so you get the perfect one!}
- Before you make our child’s handprint on the plate, be sure to do a few test runs on some plain paper. This way your child knows exactly what to do with their hand [this is especially good since this is a one-shot type project!]
- Once you got the details down, paint your child’s hand and press in on the plate to make the handprint.
- Remove excess paint from their hand with a few baby wipes and a trip to the sink.
- Now we are heading towards the last few steps. Grab your remaining paint colors and paint on some embellishments to really personalize it. {see the above examples}
- Once done decorating the plate, set it aside to let it dry completely.
- To seal in the paint and really protect the piece for years, put a good, thick layer of Mod Podge ALL over the painted plate.
- Then set that aside again to let it dry completely.
- Then gift away to the lucky receiver!
