How To Turn Terra Cotta Pots Into Easter Decor:

White Bunny Supplies:

  • One Terra Cotta Pot
  • White Acrylic Craft Paint
  • Black Acrylic Craft Paint
  • Pink Acrylic Craft Paint
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Pink Sharpie Marker

Baby Chick Supplies:

  • One Terra Cotta Pot
  • White Acrylic Craft Paint
  • Black Acrylic Craft Paint
  • Orange Acrylic Craft Paint

Other Craft Supplies:

  • Paint Brushes {large and small!}
  • Large Paper Plate
  • Paper Craft Scissors
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • White/Pink Small Pom Poms

Directions:

  • First turn your terra cotta pot upside down on a large paper plate.
  • Have your child paint their pot completely white for a bunny or yellow for a baby chick.
  • Next – go ahead and paint on the designed facial features on your painted pot piece. For the chick you will do a small orange triangle nose and black dotted eyes, while for the bunny you will do a heart shaped pink nose and some black dotted eyes.
  • When done painting, aside your pieces to allow them to dry completely.
  • At this point in time the baby chick craft is done.
  • For the bunny, while the paint is drying, grab your white cardstock paper and cut out two white ears.
  • Use the Sharpie marker to give these two pieces some dimension and draw in some pink inside the eyes.
  • Next get your glue gun hot and ready.
  • Hot glue the ears to the white painted pot.
  • And that’s it! At this point in time, you should also add any other embellishments that you see fit and like.
  • Then display proudly for all to see!

Craft Activity Safety Guidelines:

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use. Following these guidelines will ensure that crafts remain fun, creative, and, most importantly, safe for everyone involved!
