Pumpkin Pie Slices Made From Popsicle Sticks

Last week while I was browsing the aisles of my local Barnes and Noble {which I do more than I should} I came across the children’s book Miss Fiona’s Stupendous Pumpkin Pies in the Halloween section.

After looking through the pages and reading the poems, it instantly dawned on me to do a kid craft in honor – hence how today’s pumpkin pie themed blog post was born!

Popsicle Stick Pumpkin Pies - Kid Craft

It’s time to get crafty! Create a pumpkin pie slice masterpiece using some popsicle sticks, glue, and a little bit of imagination – you won’t believe the results!

Craft Supplies:

  • Jumbo Popsicle Sticks
  • Orange Craft Paint
  • Paint Brush
  • School Glue
  • Brown Cardstock Paper
  • Orange Scrapbook Paper
  • Paper Craft Scissors
  • White Cotton Balls

Directions:

  • Grab three popsicle sticks and glue them together to look like a triangle.
  • Set aside to let them dry completely.
  • Once dry, go ahead and trace the popsicle stick design on some scrapbook paper, to make the inner part of the pumpkin pie {trim it down slightly to be a smaller triangle than your popsicle sticks}
  • Set it aside.
  • Now it’s time for the painting! Squirt some paint on a paper plate.
  • Have children paint the popsicle stick triangle shape completely orange.
  • Grab the scrapbook paper cutout and glue it onto the triangular design.
  • To finish off the Popsicle Stick Pumpkin Pies– cut a strip of brown cardstock to look like the crust of the pie and glue it to one side of the triangle shape.
  • Now grab a cotton ball and glue it to the center of the triangular design for the “whipped topping.”
  • Once everything is glued down, set aside to let it ALL dry completely before displaying proudly!
