Paper Popcorn Craft Idea

Woot woot! School is coming to a close and summer celebrations are in full swing! It all sounds super fun until the inevitable happens – the kids say the famous words “I’m bored” and you start to pull your hair out. But no worries because you are in the perfect place {my blog} to get crafty inspiration to beat those boredom blues ALL summer long!!!

Take for example today’s Cotton Ball Popcorn craft idea. It’s a “poppin” good craft for young children {and some older} and it’s really inexpensive too!

To help you along the way, not only am I sharing this easy step-by-step tutorial with you all but I’m also sharing the popcorn box printable template that goes along with this craft for FREE. All you need to do is download the file below, print it and glue some cotton balls where the popcorn goes. It’s super easy, especially since I laid the basic framework out for you with the printable!

Cotton Ball Popcorn - Paper and Glue Kid Craft Idea Cotton Ball Popcorn - Paper and Glue Kid Craft Idea

This is a FUN popcorn craft idea that is perfect for a party or just because. All you need are some cotton balls, cardstock paper and glue. Be sure to check out the free printable too!

Craft Supplies:

  • Popcorn Box Printable – on our landing page
  • Cardstock Paper
  • Large, White Cotton Balls
  • School Glue
  • Yellow Puffy Craft Paint

Directions:

There are SEVERAL ways to do this popcorn craft. You can either print our free file on a sheet of white cardstock paper and then trim it out, to be later glued to another piece of colored paper. OR you can print file directly on a sheet of yellow cardstock and then just glue the cotton balls right on it. The choice is yours!

  • First download and print the free template listed above in the supply list.
  • Print it out on your choice of colored cardstock. You only need ONE print per popcorn craft.
  • Next put a good amount of glue in the white area above the popcorn bag, in the printable.
  • Have children place their cotton balls AKA popcorn on top of the glue, until it’s completely covered and the box looks “full.”
  • To finish the Cotton Ball Popcorn kid craft, have children paint some “butter” on top of the cotton balls.
  • Then let it all dry completely before displaying proudly!
