Popsicle sticks are fairly easy to find, inexpensive and even come in fun colors & different shapes/sizes. After playing around with my own popsicle stick stash in my craft room, I instantly pictured these awesome airplanes made out of them. Next thing you know, wham bam this blog post was born!

If you are looking for a budget-friendly and fun boy themed craft activity – this Popsicle Stick Airplane craft tutorial is the one to do today! Not only is it easy to pull together, but kids {and even adults} can also customize them however they like, with supplies you probably already have on hand.

Popsicle Stick Airplanes - Kid Craft Idea

With some basic materials like popsicle sticks and other art supplies which are readily available in stores or online–you can have endless hours of fun creating airplanes that will soar across your imagination!

Craft Supplies:

  • Mini Popsicle Sticks – 1 per craft
  • Jumbo Popsicle Sticks – 1 per craft
  • Wavy Paddle Fan Sticks – 1 per craft
  • School Glue
  • Paint Brushes
  • Various Colors of Craft Paint
  • Embellishments

Directions:

  • First arrange and glue together your popsicle sticks in an airplane formation {see the above picture for an example} You want the wavy stick to be the wings, the jumbo popsicle stick the center of the plane and the mini popsicle stick is the propeller.
  • Set aside to let them dry completely.
  • Repeat for each airplane you want to make today.
  • Now it’s time to customize! Let’s kids paint, add glitter – whatever they like!
  • Once done, set aside to let it all dry completely before displaying or playing with proudly!
