Unique Cotton Ball Unicorn Cupcake Craft Idea For Kids

Whip up a magical craft idea for your kid, with our Cotton Ball Unicorn Cupcake tutorial. There is even a free printable to get you started!

Craft Supplies:

  • Cupcake Printable – on our landing page
  • Cardstock Paper
  • White Cotton Balls
  • Gold or Yellow Craft Felt
  • White Craft Felt
  • Purple or Pink Craft Felt
  • Kid Scissors
  • Thick Tacky Glue
  • Embellishments
  • Brown or Black Marker

Directions:

  • First print the free cupcake printable listed in the supply list above. You will want to print it out on either a light shade of pink or purple cardstock paper so the white cotton balls POP from the craft.
  • This next step is optional – if you want to, grab your choice of coloring material and color in the cupcake liner in the design {or leave it blank if you like!}
  • Next put a good amount of school glue in the area that is on top of the cupcake liner design on the printable.
  • Place your white cotton balls on top of the glue, until you have the desired look for your cupcake. You can make the cotton ball unicorn frosting as tall or as thin as you like!
  • To finish off the Cotton Ball Unicorn Cupcake kid craft, cut out a triangle unicorn horn, petal shaped ears and small basic flower shapes for the hair.
  • Glue those pieces on top of the attached cotton balls. I would start with the horn and go from there.
  • At this point in time you can also add some small rhinestones stickers to the cupcake, on the flowers and in any blank areas for the “sprinkles.” I also added some tiny heart stickers in between for some added flair.
  • When done crafting, allow it all to dry completely before you display it proudly for ALL to see!
