Paper Plate Banana Craft

Yellow Banana Made From A Paper Plate

Are your kids currently bored? Maybe driving you a little “ape” crazy today? Well, don’t go “bananas” over it – because today I have another fun and creative banana kid craft idea to add to the blog archives today!

Not only am I super excited to be sharing this really easy and inexpensive Paper Plate & Tissue Paper Banana art project idea with you all, but I also think you are “bananas” if you don’t make the effort to make it with your child today.

Did I mention that it also goes along perfectly with the book Pete the Cat and The Bad Banana? Making this a great way to tie everything together with craft time, as well as story time in a jam-packed {but fun} afternoon. Yup – this is a must-do craft that is perfect for kids of all ages!

PAIR YOUR YELLOW BANANA CRAFT WITH —> Popsicle Stick Popcorn

Paper Plate Banana Craft

This fun and easy paper plate fruit craft is perfect for kids of all ages! It’s a great way to teach them about bananas, and it’s also a lot of fun.

Craft Supplies:

  • Large Paper Plate {one plate makes TWO bananas}
  • Yellow Tissue Paper
  • Black Cardstock Paper
  • School Glue
  • Craft Scissors
  • Hand-Held Office Stapler

Directions:

  • First cut your yellow tissue paper into small squares {great for practicing cutting skills}
  • Take your paper plate and cut it in half.
  • Trim out the center, leaving the rim to create the shape of the banana.
  • Next put a good amount of glue all over the paper plate halves.
  • Have children place the tissue paper on top of the glue, until they are completely covered.
  • While they are working on that, cut out some banana ends from the black cardstock.
  • To finish off the Paper Banana kid craft – staple/glue the cardstock pieces in their designated spots on the paper plate.
  • Then display proudly! {or add other embellishments to really make it your own!}
