Mixed Media Paper Plate Dandelion Art – make it come to life today!
I’ve combined some of my favorite things {paper plates, colored cardstock AND dandelions} into ONE simple mixed media art piece!
Although I’m pushing this as a “kid craft idea” I can safely say, it’s also perfect for adults! All skill levels are welcomed on this DIY idea!
So please be inspired by our latest post and recreate it today! We also want to see those pictures of the inspiration come to life, so be sure to tag us on your various social media sites or use our hashtag #gluedtomycrafts to be featured!
Happy crafting, my friends!!!! #gluedtomycraftsinspiresyou
Mixed Media Paper Plate Dandelion Supplies:
- Small White Paper Plate
- Black Marker/Crayon
- Scissors
- Colored Cardstock
- School Glue
Directions:
- First grab your small white paper plate and black crayon/marker {you can also use black paint on this step!}
- Draw a small to medium sized circle in the center of the paper plate.
- Then draw a thin line around the rim of the paper plate.
- Next up – grab the scissors and cut thin strips, along the paper plate rim, into the center, but not passing the circle in the center of the plate. You don’t want to go straight up the paper plate and cut it in half {hopefully this makes sense!} You just want to make small strips that will later look like the “white part” of the dandelion.
- Once the paper plate strips are cut, use your fingers to slightly curl a few of them to give the “dandelion” some dimension. Set aside.
- Next – grab your drawing device and colored cardstock. Draw a simple thin stem for the dandelion.
- Now grab the school glue and finished paper plate piece. Glue it to the cardstock piece, on top of the drawn on stem.
- Finally – take your choice of drawing device and draw a few “seeds” coming from your dandelion head.
- Set aside to let it dry completely.
- Then display your Paper Plate Dandelion Art proudly for ALL to see!
