So why does the old lady swallow a yellow chick? Well – you will have to read the book to find out and celebrate with our paper chick craft afterwards! Find all the details you need to know, below!

Happy crafting my friends! {by the way – our Handprint Chick craft idea also goes along perfectly with today’s book mention for story time fun!}

Directions:

  • First have your children cut their yellow tissue paper into small squares {let the kids practice their cutting skills}
  • Now take your paper plate and put a good amount of glue in the center of the plate.
  • Have children place the tissue paper on top of the glue, until the center is completely covered.
  • While they are working on that, cut out pieces for the chick from the orange & white cardstock {think eyes, beak and feet}
  • Now grab the yellow cardstock and trace your child’s hands on it. Trim those out.
  • To finish off the Paper Plate Chick craft – have children glue/staple on the cardstock pieces to the paper plate and display proudly!
