Popsicle Stick & Handprint Baby Chick Craft

Spring brings new life, warmer weather, and the perfect opportunity to create adorable crafts with your little ones. This popsicle stick and handprint baby chick craft combines creativity with precious keepsakes, making it an ideal activity for toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary-aged children.

This simple yet engaging project requires minimal supplies and offers maximum fun. Your kids will love getting their hands messy while creating something they can proudly display or give as gifts. Plus, you’ll have a sweet memento of their tiny handprints to treasure for years to come.

Popsicle Stick & Handprint Baby Chick Craft

Get those creative juices flowing and your kiddos involved with this fun Popsicle Stick & Handprint Baby Chick craft tutorial!

Craft Supplies:

Before diving into the creative process, gather these basic supplies:

  • Jumbo Popsicle Sticks – 3 per craft
  • White School Glue
  • Orange Cardstock Paper
  • Yellow Cardstock Paper
  • Light Yellow Cardstock Paper
  • Yellow Scrapbook Paper
  • Small Wiggle Eyes
  • Yellow Craft Paint
  • Paint Brush
  • Paper Plate
  • Craft Scissors
  • Pencil or Marker

Directions:

  • First grab three popsicle sticks {three per Easter chick} and glue them together to look like a triangle.
  • Set aside to let it dry completely.
  • When ready, grab the yellow craft paint, paper plate and paint brush.
  • Squirt some on a paper plate and have children use the paint brush to paint their newly made triangle popsicle stick frame completely yellow.
  • Set aside when done.
  • While that is drying, grab your scrapbook paper and cut a triangular shape that will be placed within the popsicle stick design & be the body of the baby chick.
  • At this time, you should also trace your child’s hands on the light yellow cardstock paper and trim those out for the wings. Be sure to also cut out a small circle for the head, some long legs and a triangular nose out of the remaining cardstock.
  • To finish off the Popsicle Stick Yellow Baby Chick – have children glue the paper pieces and wings/head/nose in place on the popsicle stick shape.
  • Once done, add other embellishments you see fit and set aside to let it dry completely before displaying proudly!

Here’s your checklist of supplies to bring this craft to life:
