Easy Paper Plate Alien - Kid Craft Tutorial

Paper Plate Green Alien Craft

Hi friends! I’m so glad you landed on today’s Paper Plate Alien Craft tutorial. You are going to love it because I’m going to show YOU how to make an alien out a simple paper plate!

Lately my son has been watching a ton of Disney. I don’t think there is ever a moment during the day, that the TV isn’t changed over to Disney or Disney Junior during the day. So on that note – today’s kid friendly alien place paper plate craft post is inspired by the Disney movie Toy Story.

One afternoon after watching the first Toy Story movie with my son, I decided a themed kids craft was in order {because that’s what crafty moms do!}

Which led into a search through my stash of supplies, looking for the perfect shade of green tissue paper. Then after an hour later of our time “crafting” we had this “Easy Paper Plate Green Alien Craft” displayed on our fridge. It’s mainly inspired by those cute little aliens in the movie. Although my husband said our finished craft looked more like a monster but I majorly disagree with that!

Now I know you are thinking – another easy kid craft??? I swear – I’m not pulling your leg! It really is EASY! {it’s my favorite kind to share on the blog} Plus this craft is fun for all ages and super affordable. I would bet a few dollars – that even the moms who “claim” they aren’t crafty, could pull this off for their kids.

With all this being said, are you ready to learn how to make it with your little one today?! Then keep on scrolling to not only learn the full tutorial for this alien paper plate activity BUT to also grab the FREE eyeball printable I included in the supply list below. Let’s make some awesome ALIENS today! Happy crafting my dear friends

It’s perfect for a birthday party or classroom activity. Plus, there’s a free eyeball printable to make it even easier to recreate. Have fun crafting with your little ones today!

Craft Supplies:

  • Large Paper Plate – 1 per craft
  • Our EYEBALL Printable – on our landing page
  • Green Tissue Paper
  • Purple Cardstock Paper
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Craft Scissors
  • School Glue
  • Hand-Held Office Stapler

Directions:

  • First tear/cut up your tissue paper into 2×2 inch squares.
  • Now cover your paper plate completely in school glue. Hand over the paper plate and tissue paper to your child, and ask them to completely cover the plate.
  • While they are decorating their plate – cut out the features of the alien’s face. This is where you can get really creative. I did three eyeballs from our printable and then alien ears, a mouth and the alien’s antennas.
  • Once the paper plate is completely covered in tissue paper, glue and/or staple on the facial features to it.
  • Set aside your finished Paper Plate Alien Head to let it dry completely before displaying proudly.
