This lovable blue monster brings joy to children everywhere with his googly eyes and insatiable appetite for treats. Now you can bring that same joy into your home with a simple popsicle stick Cookie Monster craft that’s perfect for kids of all ages.

This fun project combines creativity with fine motor skill development. Children will love creating their own version of the beloved Sesame Street character while practicing cutting, gluing, and decorating techniques. The best part? You probably already have most of the materials at home.

Popsicle Stick Cookie Monster - Kid Craft

Looking for a fun, easy craft to do with the kids? Look no further! Create your very own Popsicle Stick Cookie Monster with just a few simple items – perfect for any rainy day boredom buster!

Craft Supplies:

Before starting your popsicle stick Cookie Monster craft, gather these supplies:

  • Jumbo Popsicle Sticks {9 per craft}
  • Small Paper Plate
  • Light Blue Craft Paint
  • Paint Brushes
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Black Cardstock Paper
  • School Glue
  • Craft Scissors

Directions:

Set up your workspace before beginning. Cover surfaces with newspaper or plastic to protect from paint and glue.

  • First assemble the base of your Cookie Monster by gluing your popsicle sticks together to look like a fence {7 next to each and two across}
  • Set aside to let it dry completely.
  • Now grab your craft paint, paint brush and popsicle stick base.
  • Squirt the paint on the paper plate.
  • Have children paint the front of their newly made popsicle stick shape, completely blue while you cut out some facial features {crazy eyes and large mouth} from the cardstock.
  • To finish off the Popsicle Stick Blue Monster craft, have glue the cardstock pieces to the popsicle stick design and let it dry completely before displaying proudly!!! {psst – be sure to also make some cookies out of brown cardstock for your Cookie Monster Friend to enjoy!!!}
