Let’s go behind the scenes of the life of a crafter {and mom!}

I’m watching Sesame Street with my son, when that crafty bug of inspiration hits! One thing leads to another and our super unique Cookie Monster kids craft idea was born and here it is on Glued To My Crafts today!

Our craft stick cookie monster craft is perfect for little ones {especially toddlers and preschoolers} to recreate, since there aren’t many steps PLUS it doubles for awesome pretend play afterwards!

So friends – let’s not delay the craft fun! Go grab those craft supplies, find the full tutorial below and get ready to make up a fun one-of-a-kind blue monster friend with our child today! Happy crafting my friends {om nom nom COOKIES!!!}

Popsicle Stick Cookie Monster - Kid Craft

Looking for a fun, easy craft to do with the kids? Look no further! Create your very own Popsicle Stick Cookie Monster with just a few simple items – perfect for any rainy day boredom buster!

Craft Supplies:

  • Jumbo Popsicle Sticks {9 per cookie monster craft}
  • Small Paper Plate
  • Light Blue Craft Paint
  • Paint Brushes
  • White Cardstock Paper
    Black Cardstock Paper
  • School Glue
  • Craft Scissors

Directions:

  • First assemble the base of your Cookie Monster by gluing your popsicle sticks together to look like a fence {7 next to each and two across}
  • Set aside to let it dry completely.
  • Now grab your craft paint, paint brush and popsicle stick base.
  • Squirt the paint on the paper plate.
  • Have children paint the front of their newly made popsicle stick shape, completely blue while you cut out some facial features {crazy eyes and large mouth} from the cardstock.
  • To finish off the Popsicle Stick Blue Monster craft, have glue the cardstock pieces to the popsicle stick design and let it dry completely before displaying proudly!!! {psst – be sure to also make some cookies out of brown cardstock for your Cookie Monster Friend to enjoy!!!}
