Get in the spirit of Talk Like a Pirate Day with this fun popsicle stick pirate craft idea that kids will love!
Craft Supplies:
- Jumbo Popsicle Sticks
- School Glue
- Large Skull Paper Punch
- Black Cardstock Paper
- White Cardstock Paper
- Colored Cardstock Paper
- Pencil or Pen
Directions:
- First assemble the base of your pirate’s face by gluing your popsicle sticks together to look like a fence {7 next to each and two across}
- Set aside to let it dry completely.
- If your child wants to, have them paint the front of their popsicle stick fence however they like. We kept ours blank.
- Now grab your white cardstock paper and pencil.
- Trace your child’s hand on the paper.
- Trim it out to make a beard for the pirate.
- Next up – cut out the remaining facial features from your cardstock {like his eye, eye patch, hat and nose!}
- Use the paper punch to make a skill design for the hat.
- To finish off the Popsicle Stick Pirate craft, glue your cardstock pieces and handprint beard cutout to the popsicle stick shape. I suggest starting with the beard and working upward.
- Then add other embellishments you see fit and display proudly for all to see!
