Craft Supplies:
* Jumbo Popsicle Sticks {9 per pirate}
* School Glue
* Large Skull Paper Punch
* Black Cardstock Paper
* White Cardstock Paper
* Choice of Colored Cardstock Paper
* Pencil or Pen
optional materials – craft paint, glitter, rhinestones etc.
Directions:
* First assemble the base of your pirate’s face by gluing your popsicle sticks together to look like a fence {7 next to each and two across}
* Set aside to let it dry completely.
* If your child wants to, have them paint the front of their popsicle stick fence however they like. We kept ours blank.
* Now grab your white cardstock paper and pencil.
* Trace your child’s hand on the paper.
* Trim it out to make a beard for the pirate.
* Next up – cut out the remaining facial features from your cardstock {like his eye, eye patch, hat and nose!}
* Use the paper punch to make a skill design for the hat.
* To finish off the Popsicle Stick Pirate craft, glue your cardstock pieces and handprint beard cutout to the popsicle stick shape. I suggest starting with the beard and working upward.
* Then add other embellishments you see fit and display proudly for all to see!
