Give your child a fun pirate adventure this summer with this easy paper plate craft that includes a handprint beard!
Craft Supplies:
- Large Paper Plate
- Ivory Craft Paint
- Paint Brush
- White Cardstock Paper
- Red Cardstock Paper
- Black Cardstock Paper
- Tan Cardstock Paper
- Pencil or Pen
- Pair of Scissors
- School Glue
- Stapler
- Large Wiggle Eyes – two per pirate craft
- Large Crossbones Paper Punch
Directions:
- First things first – paint your paper plate with the ivory colored paint, until completely covered.
- Set aside to let it dry.
- Next up – grab your white cardstock paper and a drawing utensil.
- Pick a hand – any hand!
- Lay it out flat on the white paper and trace around it with your pencil.
- Lift up your hand.
- Now using the scissors, cut out the traced handprint design you just made on the paper. This is the pirate’s beard.
- Out of your remaining cardstock paper, cut out a large pirate’s hat, eye patch and nose. You can also use your paper punch to make the skull & bones design from the remaining white cardstock paper.
- To finish off the Pirate Paper Plate craft, start off by stapling the handprint beard in place on the top of the paper plate and then adding the remaining embellishments from there {the handprint will go facing outward, towards the bottom of the plate.}
- Then when ready, display it proudly for ALL to see!
