Popsicle Stick "A" is for Alien - Kid Craft Idea

Popsicle Stick Green Alien

Today we hoping to encourage YOU to make an “out of this world” craft idea and learning adventure, with the help of Glued To My Crafts!

Our latest and greatest letter A is for “alien” outer space kid craft tutorial is the PERFECT activity to reinforce that statement.

Like always, our craft tutorial is SUPER simple for kids {and adults} of all ages to pull together within a matter of minutes. I’ve even made EASIER by providing a free blank alien head printable that you can download and use instantly in the craft. From there, it’s just a little coloring, cutting and pasting to complete!

Like I mentioned above, this craft stick alien friend kid craft idea is a great way to “teach” the letter A in your classroom, as well as in-cooperating it into your outer space studies. Although I know it’s fun for the younger children, I bet the older ones would enjoy it as well! On that note, I hope you are inspired to recreate it right along side them, as well today!

Popsicle Stick "A" is for Alien - Kid Craft Idea

Crafty little ones will love making these adorable green aliens out of popsicle sticks!

Craft Supplies:

  • Jumbo Popsicle Sticks – 2 per craft
  • Mini Popsicle Sticks – 1 per craft
  • Green Craft Paint
  • Foam Paint Brush
  • Small Paper Plate
  • Alien Printable – on our landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Crayons/Markers
  • Scissors
  • School Glue

Directions:

  • First things first – squirt a small amount of green craft paint on your paper plate.
  • Grab TWO jumbo popsicle sticks and your ONE mini popsicle stick.
  • Paint one side of them, completely green.
  • Set them aside to allow them to dry completely.
  • Now print the free alien head freebie printable listed above. This print will give you FOUR alien head cutouts. You only need ONE alien head cutout per craft.
  • Go ahead and color in one of the alien designs completely green {or any color you like!}
  • When done coloring, go ahead and trim out the head piece with your scissors.
  • Set aside the remaining paper till later.
  • Now grab your painted popsicle stick pieces from earlier.
  • Glue your popsicle sticks together to look like an “A.”
  • To finish off your Popsicle Stick Alien tutorial – grab your cardstock paper head piece and glue it to the top of the “A” shape.
  • Add any other embellishments you see fit {I added some green craft glitter to mine!}
  • Then let it all sit aside to let it dry completely before displaying proudly for all to see!
  • If desired, repeat all the steps above {again} for the remaining alien head shape cutouts.
