Chalk Art Shooting Star - Kid Craft

See your child’s face light up as they create this Chalk Art Shooting Star craft idea today! It’s the perfect excuse to use up those remnants of sidewalk chalk!

Craft Supplies:

  • Star Printable – on our landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Crayons, Pencils, Markers etc.
  • Paper Craft Scissors
  • Dark Colored Paper
  • Sidewalk Chalk
  • Baby Wipes
  • Glue Stick, Stapler or Tape Runner Adhesive

Directions:

  • First things first – grab our free star shape printable, listed above in the supply list.
  • Next, go ahead and find it on your computer, right click and print the file on a single sheet of white cardstock. One print will give you TWO shooting stars, so you will be able to do the craft TWICE today. Print as many as you like but only use our file for personal use only please.
  • Now that you have the printable, go ahead and color in one of “stars” in it, however you like. Feel free to make it as elaborate as you like!
  • When done coloring in the star, use your craft scissors to trim it out.
  • Set aside the leftover paper piece with the other star design in it, so you can repeat the craft later.
  • Now grab a single sheet of dark colored cardstock {think black, dark gray, maybe even purple} and your various pieces of colored chalk.
  • Starting on one side of the paper, make several curved lines to create a rainbow coming from one edge of the paper. Add as many lines and colors as you like.
  • When done with the chalk, use baby wipes to clean off excess chalk from fingers and hands.
  • Now grab your star cutout and choice of adhesive {I used a stapler.}
  • Secure you decorated paper star piece in the corner of the paper, so it looks like the chalk art rainbow is shooting out of it.
  • Add any other embellishments you see fit {maybe some glitter or small rhinestone stickers!}
  • Then display your custom one-of-a-kind paper shooting star piece proudly for all to see!
  • Repeat the steps above, the same way, for the second star piece leftover from earlier!
  • Don’t forget to share pictures with us on your social media sites! #gluedtomycrafts
