Paper Plate Pumpkin Fox Craft

The supplies are so simple and it’s a great way to get kids excited about the changing seasons, while spending some time together crafting.

Craft Supplies:

  • Large Paper Plate
  • Craft Paint {orange & brown}
  • Paint Brushes
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Brown Cardstock Paper
  • Fox Printable – on our fall landing page
  • Crayons, Markers or Coloring Pencils
  • Craft Scissors
  • Stapler/Adhesive
  • Green Pipe Cleaner
  • Large Googly Eyes

Directions:

  • First things first – decorate your paper plate to look like a pumpkin. Start off by covering it with ORANGE craft paint and then adding a few lines of brown to the center, to give the “pumpkin” some dimension.
  • When done decorating the paper plate, set it aside to let it dry completely.
  • Next up – the paper elements that will bring the pumpkin fox to life. Go ahead and grab ALL your paper pieces, coloring tools & the scissors.
  • Go ahead and color in the white {printed printable} however you like {I highly recommend orange for the ears and tail, while leaving the heart shape blank!}
  • Trim out all the pieces.
  • Discard excess paper.
  • Next, out of the remaining piece of brown cardstock paper, cut out a medium sized oval nose and rectangle stem.
  • Now we are heading to the final steps! Once the decorated paper plate is completely dry, go ahead and staple on the ears & fox tail.
  • Next glue down the HEART piece in the center of the paper plate.
  • Follow that up by gluing down the wiggle eyes and nose.
  • Finally, curl the green pipe cleaner with your fingers and staple it onto the top of the paper plate.
  • Go ahead and add any other embellishments you see fit and display your fox paper plate pumpkin proudly for all to see!

Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible.
