These paper gingerbread star cookie ornaments are perfect for preschoolers through early elementary age kids to recreate this holiday season. No baking required either! Plus, they are so easy to make that even the most inexperienced crafter can handle them! Get creative and have some fun with your little ones this holiday season crafting these adorable ornaments.

These gingerbread star cookie ornaments are super easy and fun to make, and they look really cute when they’re finished.

Craft Supplies:

  • Cookie Star Printable – on our landing page
  • Light Brown Cardstock Paper
  • Scissors
  • Single Hole Punch
  • White Tulip Puffy Paint
  • Ribbon or Twine
  • Rhinestone Stickers
  • Loose Craft Glitter

Directions:

  • First grab and print out the FREE printable on a single sheet of kraft or brown colored cardstock paper. You need ONE print per star gingerbread cookie craft.
  • Next using your scissors, trim out the star design in the printable. Discard excess paper afterwards.
  • Take the hole punch and punch a single hole at one of the “points” so you can turn it into an ornament later on.
  • Now you are ready to BAKE up your masterpieces with some decorating.
  • Use the white puffy paint to outline the star design.
  • Next add the rhinestones and loose craft glitter to really make it sparkle!
  • When you are done decorating your pieces, go ahead and set them aside to let them dry completely.
  • Finally – add some twine and/or ribbon through the hole punched hole, so you can display it proudly on the tree.
  • And that’s it! You now have a awesome paper gingerbread Christmas star ornament to show off ALL season long!
