Craft Foam Reindeer Star – Christmas Art Project
Turn ANY basic FIVE POINT star shape into a reindeer friend within minutes. Have you ever looked at a star and seen a reindeer in disguise? Probably not! Well that will change today!!!
I picked up my craft foam star shapes at Michaels recently but honestly ANY size or star shape will do. From wood to paper or even craft felt, you can take our idea and pretty much turn anything into a reindeer, with just a few simple steps. Now that you have the vision, it’s time for YOU to run with it!

PAIR YOUR STAR SHAPED REINDEER CRAFT WITH —> DIY Wood Santa Star Ornament – Christmas Kid Craft Idea
Craft Supplies:
- Craft Foam Shapes – one per craft {affiliate link to similar on Amazon from Darice}
- Large Paper Plate
- Brown Craft Paint
- Large Foam Paint Brush
- Brown Cardstock Paper
- Black Cardstock Paper
- Basic Paper Craft Scissors
- School Glue
- Hand-Held Office Stapler
- Gold Pipe Cleaners – one per craft
- Small Wiggle Eyes – two per craft
- Small Red Pom Poms – one per craft
- Decorative Ribbon
Directions:
- First things first – grab your two cardstock sheets and scissors. Cut out a head and some hooves for your reindeer. You will have a total of ONE piece per star point. One head, four hooves = five paper pieces. Set aside.
- Grab your star shape, paper plate and brown craft paint. Lay the star shape on the plate and paint it completely brown.
- When done painting, go ahead and start gluing your cardstock pieces in place, on the star shape. I suggest starting with the head.
- At this point in time you should also glue down the pom pom nose and wiggle eyes.
- Next, grab the gold pipe cleaner. Bend it in half and alter it a bit to look like antlers.
- Staple the newly made antlers to the star shape.
- Finish off the Reindeer Star Craft by taking a long piece of ribbon, folding it and stapling it to the star shape to look like a scarf on the reindeer.
- Add other embellishments you see fit and display proudly for all to see!

BUT WAIT – THERE’S MORE! If you would like to make this into an ornament for the tree, hole punch the top of the reindeer piece and string some ribbon through it!
